The estate of a Timothy Bigelow (of Middletown?) probated in 1777 lists "1 pr Grave Stones bou't of David Miller which I afterwards tho't impoper to put up, L1.16.6; 1 pr ditto bou't of Thomas Johnson, L4.10.0." The style and lettering on this stone do not seem to match the 1747 date. Was it backdated by many years or recut at some time? Could it be the Johnson stone mentioned in the above probate?
